A group pf us had hired the first engine - an ex Great Western Railway 14xx Class 0-4-2T No.1450 - for an all day photo-charter. During the day, the railway were running a special train for the benefit of soldiers who had worked on the line. This was to be hauled by ex London Midland & Scottish Railway Class 5MT 4-6-0 No 45305. We had arranged that the trains were to be run close together, with the latter overtaking the former near Woodthorpe Road Bridge. It worked perfectly - as can be seen here.
